Transformations in Life
Modernization has brought many new designs into life but the world around
us seems basically the same. The shape of the earth and the sky appear the
same. The elements and products used by people today are like those used
centuries ago. Can people affect changes in life?
Through people, modernization has affected our ways of life; but more so than
the physical design of the environment. We have knowledge that land masses
of earth were transformed dramatically in earlier times but the transformations
in the earth's current age have become gradual; little significance is revealed
in short time spans. There have been both large and small changes in earth's
physical environment.
Industrialization has exploited the use of earth element and made many beneficial
products which we use daily. By use of alternative elements and derivatives,
we can have more of various generic items. Products which will have, basically,
the same uses can be made of alternative materials, such as; plastics
and vinyls which can be used for household items an apparel as substitutes
for organic materials.
Telecommunications and the Internet
In modern societies, we have interconnecting lines of telecommunications
and a fairly new development which combines telecommunications with computers.
These days we have rapid and accurate communications of voice and
data over thousands of miles, compliments of telecommunications and the internet.
Shopping
Shopping is a concept by which we can use the internet, and it can be endless.
What do we mean by this?
Disregard store hours; plenty of shopping is available online.
You can begin at any time, and you can close or suspend your visit.
A Customer can shop until he or she decides to stop.
When looking for a place to shop, the internet may be the ideal place
to begin. Internet shoppping is efficient with use of time and energy. No need
for a household or business to keep enormous volumes of hard bound printed
paper, one can keep the minimum amount he finds necessary.
Tens of millions of businesses which pertain to familiar products and services
are registered online and their web pages can be accessed from personal and
business computers. Futhermore, one can shop privately.
Although the internet is vastly used for public access, many files cannot be
accessed without special permissions which only specific users may know.
When one is familiar with business names and search terms, finding a particular
web site or references to specific products can be fairly easy.
Domain Names are registered online by a registrar. The registrar
may have several data bases with certain information about each business, such
as, the name and web address. If you know the name or web address of a business
it's site can be reached directly.
If you know the type of product or service for which you would like to have information but are
not certain which business you should locate, you can initiate a search
for references to businesses which provide the product or service. The web brow
ser may have a search box in the page on display and a user can input a search
term to receive a list of sites from which to select. Alternatively, a user may
input the name or address of a specific search engine and begin a search from it's location.
The list may not provide an exact match of the product or service requested, since
since some records in the search engine's data base may not contain the particu
lar keywords which would match the search term.
Internet browsers* can retrieve information from domains which allow certain records to be retrieved.
The display format of a record may vary dependent on which browser is used.
Shop efficiently: The time it takes to find pertianent information will vary by the
paths you choose.
Go directly to your favorite places: You can start to browse from anywhere and stop anywhere.
Bookmark, or record offline, the URLs of websites which you are likely to revisit.
Regard your use of time; there are many things to do in life.
*An internet browser is a program which processes information by request of certain
online users. The browser interprets the requests and displays web pages and messages.
